History
Museum Ullen Sentalu was officially opened in 1997 and was established to preserve and introduce Javanese cultural heritage to the public. Its name, “Ullen Sentalu,” is derived from a Javanese phrase meaning “a light that illuminates the way.”
The museum has a strong connection to the history and cultural traditions of the Yogyakarta and Surakarta royal courts.
