History
Bukit Belong is located within Desa Gunaksa, a village with a long history and strong cultural heritage. Historical accounts of Gunaksa are connected to the Ki Mantri Tutuan inscription preserved at Pura Bukit Buluh. The inscription tells of the arrival of people associated with the Keling Kingdom from East Java and the establishment of settlements in the Gunaksa area.
The Gunaksa area was also affected by the 1963 eruption of Mount Agung, which significantly shaped the landscape and history of the village. Today, Bukit Belong has developed as a natural tourism attraction, allowing visitors to enjoy the landscape while experiencing the rural character and cultural heritage of Gunaksa.
